What brought you to KPU and your program of study?

I worked for more than 45 years doing physical Jobs, these included heavy lifting and working in very cold conditions. I decided after I had a knee replacement surgery that I needed a change in career.

Can you briefly describe your current position and your main day to day responsibilities?

I am working in a private Catholic School and my responsibilities are to assist children on the spectrum. I have worked with 5 students who were my full time responsibility but assisted the full class and any students falling behind in their grades.

Which skills, knowledge, or experiences from KPU have been most valuable in your career so far?

The fact that I was the oldest in my class at KPU but had the most experience dealing with different situations made me find different ways to teach and assist the kids. Taking notes for each lesson in all the subjects (Math, Science, Social etc) made it easier for the kids to actually get the lessons done on time.

What advice would you give current KPU students who want to build a successful career after graduation?

Please be patient listen to your professors take notes and ask for their advice they are all very experienced and helpful.
