What brought you to KPU and your program of study?

My passion for working with numbers brought me to KPU to pursue a BBA degree with accounting major.

Can you briefly describe your current position and your main day to day responsibilities?

I currently work for the federal government as an income tax auditor. My day to day duties include contacting taxpayers via letters and telephone to request their books and records, review the documentation, propose adjustments, review taxpayers’ representations and finally complete the assigned audit cases.

Which skills, knowledge, or experiences from KPU have been most valuable in your career so far?

Enrolling in accounting degree with co-op was the best decision I made. It introduced me to my current employer, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) where I completed my four co-op terms. The CRA then offered me a full time permanent audit position.

What advice would you give current KPU students who want to build a successful career after graduation?

I highly recommend current student to enrol in co-op. It is the easiest way to explore great employment opportunities.
